The Lyell and Maclure glaciers have been surveyed for their spatial extent, but never for their ecological importance within their alpine habitats. As they are expected to completely disappear in the next few years, we want to investigate their ecology before it is too late and help predict the fate of downstream freshwater ecosystems.
