This standard operating procedure (SOP) describes how to collect information on downed woody material and other fuel load measures. This procedure is implemented as part of the vegetation community monitoring protocol. Coarse woody debris, fine woody debris, and litter/duff/fuel beds are components of fuel load measurements. The datasheet used for this SOP includes SECN Veg Form 7—Fuel Load Measurements. It is included in Appendix A of this SOP.
