This StoryMap examines the values that trees bring the National Parks of the National Capital Region. It focuses on three parks: the National Mall and Memorial Parks, Rock Creek Park, and Monocacy National Battlefield. This StoryMap is an updated version of a Classic StoryMap created by a graduate student at Virginia Tech (Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University) under an agreement with Virginia Tech through the Urban Ecology Research Learning Alliance, NPS in 2020. This updated version was created in January 2023 by the National Park Service.
