Invasive plant treatments began at Assateague Island National Seashore (ASIS) in 1998 with Carex kobomugi (Asiatic sand sedge) and continued through 2003 as time allowed. However, since 2004 invasive plant surveys and treatments have been conducted annually by ASIS staff (permanent, seasonal and/or interns) and the NPS Invasive Plant Management Team.
