The Administrative History of Appomattox Courthouse National Historical Park (APCO) documents and analyzes the management of the park inclusive of all preceding preservation initiatives within the Department of the Interior, War Department, and private organizations. The Administrative History aims to demonstrate all the ebbs and flows of planning, action, and reaction performed by NPS administrators between 1930 and 2015 in conjunction (and sometimes at odds) with outside stakeholders. National Park Service Park Administrative Histories document the administrative and legislative history of individual parks in the National Park System. The histories explain how they originated, evolved, and have been managed over time.
