Coastal Dynamics Monitoring at Gulf Islands National Seashore, Florida and Mississippi: 2018-2024

In the spring of every other year, the Gulf Coast Network (GULN) conducts geomorphology monitoring at Gulf Islands National Seashore (GUIS) as part of the NPS Vital Signs Monitoring Program. Monitoring is conducted following methods detailed in the Protocol Implementation Plans for Coastal Topography (Bracewell 2017a) and Shoreline Position (Bracewell 2017b). During each survey year, shoreline position and topographic elevations are recorded at Perdido Key and Fort Pickens in Florida, as well as Horn and Petit Bois Islands in Mississippi.
