In early December 2007, a series of three Pacific storms struck coastal Oregon and Washington. Later named the “Great Coastal Gale of 2007,” these storms brought in heavy rains, severe temperature swings, and hurricane force winds exceeding 100 miles per hour. The Story Map explores the impacts of the storm on the forests of Fort Clatsop unit of the Lewis and Clark National Historical Park and the use of remote sensing to detect these impacts.
