Web report on water resources monitoring in the Madison River near West Yellowstone, Montana, 2021. The Greater Yellowstone Inventory and Monitoring Network monitors water quality and analyzes river discharge (flow) in the Madison River each year. The river has high water quality and is a popular recreation destination. The river begins in Yellowstone National Park and flows out into Hebgen Lake before continuing northwest and joining two other rivers to become the Missouri River. These results are for the monitoring location just outside the park boundary north of West Yellowstone, Montana.
