Historic Structure Inventory, Release No. 2, April 1963

National Park Service. 1963. Historic Structure Inventory, Release No. 2, April 1963. Historic Structure Guidance Documents. U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service

This "Historic Structures Inventory" is a list of the structures, in the National Park System, deserving preservation and special care because of their inherent architectural-historical qualities. These structures are of such importance that every proposed rehabilitation and restoration activity following the decision to preserve them requires architectural and historical support and approval by appropriate authority. These requirements, together with an explanation of the classification symbols and the definition to which they refer, are stated in the "Historic and Prehistoric Structures Handbook" to which this Inventory is a supplement. This Inventory supersedes the "Inventory .... for Historic Buildings .... with Guidelines ....", dated November 21, 1960. The table of structures is categorized by region and park and includes the structure number, classification, present status, and associated theme study. Structures that are recorded in HABS at the time of this report are annotated.
