This guide lays out instructions for Michiganites intending to prepare and nominate locations and buildings to the National Historic Register of Historic Places. It is meant to be used as a companion to the National Park Services guidance for National Historic Place nomination. The Guide describes the preliminary steps, as well as descriptions for filling out the National Register form. Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Michigan State Historic Preservation Office, administered by the State Tribal Local Plans and Grants (P22AF01138).
