Response to inquiry re: plans for saguaro mortality studies and research into planting practices for Saguaro National Monument. Describes annual observations within test plots at the National Monument for past 10 years particularly of lesions occurring naturally on the saguaros. Addendum to letter titled "Data for Saguaro Nursery and Planting of Seedlings" includes descriptions of starting and establishing plants from seed, age and size for transplanting to protected outdoor locations, species that make most effective nurse plant, cost of project ($200 in 1951).
