Dr. Robert Parmenter began bringing his classes to Saguaro National Park, Tucson Mountain District, in 1991 as part of a spring break trip that included camping and biological sampling in the Mojave, Sonoran, and Chihuahuan Deserts. His last class visit was in 2003, but he came out and assisted Saguaro National Park staff in 2004 in identifying the plots and sharing data for re-sampling in 2004. In 2005, Don Swann, Cheryl Craddock, and Guy McPherson began teaching a class on long-term monitoring at UA that included some of the Parmenter plot activities (rodent trapping and vegetation monitoring; we added a saguaro plot in 2008). Rodent and Vegetation data and protocols are included in this folder, updated through 2008. We did not sample after 2008.
