A detailed study of The Catalina-Rincon metamorphic core complex in Tucson, Arizona. The detachment fault found in Saguaro National Park, Rincon Mountain District presents ready accessibility compared to most metamorphic core complexes, thus presenting unique opportunities for study. The conclusions reached through this work are directly applicable to the structure and tectonics of metamorphic core complexes globally and contribute to an improved understanding of the evolution of crustal-scale shear zones.
