Bacterial necrosis, a disease caused by bacterium Erwinia carnegiana, causes rotting of various cactus, fruit and vegetables. This bulletin describes its effects on Saguaro cactus. Bacterial necrosis may result from injury to the plant and may be spread by larvae of a night flying moth. Describes a method of cleaning out, or treating, necrosis with a bleach solution.
