The US National Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) and the US Forest Service (FS) collaborated on the development of a Level-2 soils map of Valles Caldera National Preserve during 2003-2010. This Data Store site contains the soils map and the report from the project's soil scientists. As background for the soils map, the 1987 Soil Conservation Survey's soils map for Sandoval County, New Mexico, is also included.
