Notes from a taped conversation with Frank Escalante (born 1899) regarding lime kilns operations dating to 1906. Includes descriptions of wood cutting and usage in the kilns. Also, descriptions of owners and users of Manning Camp, Juniper Basin, Spud Rock, Rincon Creek area and Rincon Peak. Mr. Escalante recalled the removal of saguaros by people "in town" to take back to their properties.
