Shaeffer M and Gintert C. 2023. Report of the Phase I Cultural Resources Survey at the Columbia Run Conservation Area, Boston Township, Summit County, Ohio. Summit Metro Parks. Akron, Ohio

From October 2020 to November 2021, Summit Metro Parks Cultural Staff (CRS) conducted a Phase I archaeological inventory of the Columbia Run Conservation Area (COLRN). The purpose of this investigation was to locate previously unidentified cultural resources within SRZ North as part of a larger natural and cultural resource inventory done in tandem with the National Park Service (NPS). This inventory will be used to inform Summit Metro Parks (SMP) and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) regarding resource management of the shared area, possible trail rerouting, and public access limitations. This document records the historic and archaeological research and surveys completed for this overall assessment. The work documented in this report was completed in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Section 106 for cultural resource management.
