The list of plants designated as rare for the 2021 rare plant inventory of the 2021 Cuyahoga Valley National Park included 169 total species (45 state listed and 124 regionally rare/species of special interest. The rare plant list was developed from a collaboration with National Park Service, Summit County Metro Parks, and Cleaveland Metro Parks biologists and goes beyond state listed species as recommended by local and regional botanists. The National Park Service will critically evaluate the official “active list” for long-term monitoring and management.
