The NHL nomination for the Frederick A. and Sophia Bagg Bonanza Farm documents its national significance under NHL Criterion 1. The Bagg Farm is an exceptional example of a bonanza farm, or "farm factory." Such farms are heirs to a long-standing tradition of corporate farming that stretches back to the colonial era.
