The National Park Service (NPS) Geologic Resources Division held a GRI scoping meeting for the parks in the Eastern Rivers and Mountains Inventory & Monitoring Network. Geologic scoping meetings generate an evaluation of the adequacy of existing geologic maps for resource management, provide an opportunity to discuss park-specific geologic management issues and, if possible, include a site visit with local experts. Meeting discussions also highlight distinctive geologic features and processes and identify potential mapping, monitoring, and research needs. NPS digital geologic mapping plan for UPDE written in 2006. This discusses geologic source map coverage, map digitization strategies, and includes a list of quadrangles applicable to UPDE in both Pennsylvania and New York. A detailed source map list for UPDE is included that contains references, appraisals, outstanding GRE action items, digital contact information, scale, and map format.
