Henry B. 2006. On Top of Their World, Love Enriched by Two Seasons in a Lookout. Arizona Daily Star. Tucson, Arizona. 20 Jul 2006

Ed and Mary Caldwell were fire lookouts at Happy Valley Knoll (elevation 7,348 feet) in the wilderness area of the Rincon Mountains of Saguaro National Monument during the summers of 1967 and 1968. In addition to their field assignment, they kept field notes, collected and photographed plant specimens. Two brief articles based on interviews and their memories of work watching for and putting out fires.
