Fire effects monitoring data collected at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area in northern California. The data were collected during spring, summer, and fall field seasons by the fire effects monitoring crew out of Redwood National Park from 1990 - present. Data collected from forest and brush transects are 30-meter point intercept data to obtain relative and percent cover. Shrub density data is also measured using brush belts along the same transect. Photographs are taken from each end of the transect to document change. Data collected from 50 x 20 m forest plots include tree inventory to obtain density and basal area, fuel load using Brown's method for inventorying surface fuels and biomass, seedling density, as well as herbaceous and shrub transect methods for 50-m transects.
