This document is the National Historic Landmark (NHL) nomination for the General Motors Technical Center in Warren, Macomb County, Michigan. The NHL nomination for the General Motors Technical Center documents its national significance under NHL Criterion 4 as one of the most important works of architect Eero Saarinen. The Center marks Saarinen's emergence as a nationally significant designer, represents his work as a planner/designer of total environments, and is the first of four Saarinen suburban corporate campuses that set the design standard for this important post-World War II landscape and architectural type. The period of national significance is 1949-1961.
