This Standard Operating Procedure lists the tasks necessary to prepare for a season of field data collection and itemizes the equipment needed to monitor long-term plots in the Southern Plains (SOPN) Grassland Protocol. The equipment list can also be used at the end of the field session to verify that all equipment has been returned and is accounted for. This procedure was adapted from the 2003 USDI-National Park Service Fire Monitoring Handbook. This version was implemented during the 2024 field season.
