Two hundred acres of old fields and hardwood forest make up Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial. These forests provide visitors with a sense of the challenges the Lincoln family faced when they settled here. The Heartland Inventory and Monitoring Network monitors forests on the park to assess current condition and to understand how they are changing over time.
