This report describes the work performed by the Invasive Plant Management Team (IPMT) at the Yukon – Charley Rivers National Preserve (YUCH) in July and August of 2024. The two objectives for this field season were to treat for invasive plant species, specifically Melilotus albus, and to collect native plant seeds at Coal Creek, using the Seeds of Success Protocol, for future restoration projects. Other side projects completed included dragonfly and bee collections, and a maintenance project. Invasive plant surveys were conducted at Coal Creek and on two separate islands, an island near the Rock of Ages and Montauk Island. Treatments were only completed on the islands since seed collection was given priority at Coal Creek. Overall; 7.48 acres were surveyed for invasive plant species and treatments were made on 4.30 acres. For Seeds of Success the crew ended up obtaining 17 collections of 14 different plant species.
