To design a monitoring system and protocols to evaluate air pollution exposure to visitors within urban parks. Goals: ● Understand the purpose of the different parks within this region. ● Understand park visitor experiences within various parks and how they differ between parks ● Examine trends in Natural Resource Condition Assessments ● Talk with professional air quality scientists on UMDs campus and collect information about what gasses and particulate matter they emphasize in studies and why. ● Design a study that caters to the unique needs of each park while remaining cost-effective and informative. ● Accompany physical monitoring equipment with an educational or interactive tool that bridges the behavioral and action gap of pro-environmentalism.
