A deal is a deal

Kiser JM. A deal is a deal. Arizona Daily Star. Tucson, Arizona. One page

Editorial lauding the Pima County Board of Supervisors who denied the request of a developer wanting to bulldoze saguaros in development of 360 luxury apartments in Tucson. The land developer requested exemption from a requirement, enacted when the land was rezoned in 1983 that 80 percent of saguaros are saved on the site. Arizona law governing native plants protects saguaros on public land. Private landowners can follow a permit process for removals. Editorial argues for laws and rezoning requirements which are as protective as possible of saguaros.
