Essential habitat recommendations for the gray wolf (Canis lupus) are identified on five of the thirteen National Forests in the Northern Region of the USDA Forest Service. All are located in Montana and include the Flathead, Helena, Kootenai, Lewis and Clark, and the Lolo National Forests. This report contains a statement reflecting the basis for recommendation, descriptions of the recommended habitat, and a map of the described area.
