Fire effects monitoring data collected at Everglades National Park in South Florida. The data were collected during 23 field seasons by the NPS South Florida Fire and Aviation fire effects monitoring crew, based at the Everglades National Park Duty Station. Data collected from shrub and/or grass transects are 30 meter point intercept data, percent cover, and observed species. Point intercept was discontinued in 2021 for the following reads: XXYR01, XXYR02, XXYR05 and percent cover was discontinued in 2006 . Shrub density data was also measured using brush belts along the same transect and was discontinued in 2005 then reinstated in 2016. Photographs are taken from each end of the transect to document change. Data collected from 50 x 20 m forest plots include tree inventory to obtain density and basal area and snag dynamics, seedling density, as well as vegetation inventories using point intercept and brush density protocols. Fuel load using Brown's method for inventorying surface fuels and biomass was collected until 2005. Photographs are taken from four points facing the center of the plot to document change. Post Burn Severity Assessment data is collected from grass transects and forest plots
