Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve FFI Fire Effects Monitoring Data

Leis S. 2025. Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve FFI Fire Effects Monitoring Data. National Park Service

Fire effects monitoring data collected at Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve Strong City, KS. The data were collected during spring, summer, and fall field seasons by the fire effects monitoring crew out of Wilson's Creek National Battlefield from 2009- 2023. The TAPR FFI database primarily contains fuels monitoring, fire severity data, and disturbance history for long-term monitoring sites. Data refer exclusively to grassland monitoring sites. Data were collected from 50 x 20 m plots. Grassland protocols focus on the two 50 m transects per plot. The published protocol (Leis et. al. 2011) can be found on the HTLN websitehttp://science.nature.nps.gov/im/units/htln/library/Vegetation/PlantComm/PlantCom_2009_p.pdf.
