This report provides background for NPS long-term vegetation monitoring at Vicksburg National Military Park in Mississippi and summarizes the 2024 sampling season. A total of 10 plots were sampled in 2024, which was the first full round of sampling for the park. Key metrics included species richness for both native and invasive species, per-species percent cover in nested subplots, and forest health metrics such as tree size, density, composition, and regeneration. Monitoring background and results reporting for 2024 are provided as a formatted pdf. A supplemental materials packet includes the full species list as well as several supporting tables and figures.
