The season of saguaro blooms normally lasts from early May until late June. Earlier than usual blooming is being observed, possibly due to higher temperatures. Early blossoms can affect the entire cycle of saguaro biological activity: pollination, fruiting, distribution of seeds and therefore germination of a new generation of saguaros. One important pollinator of saguaros is Sanborn's long-nosed bat which is an endangered species.
