This project focused on improving resiliency of high priority forest stands by treating invasive plants and planting native tree seedlings across 500 acres in four of the National Parks of Western Pennsylvania (WEPA). The report details all work phases completed by Nature Works, in conjunction with the Forest Stewards Guild. The project began in early 2024 and fieldwork concluded in Fall 2025. Project site selection was informed by the Invasive Plant Management Plans for Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site, Fort Necessity National Battlefield, and Friendship Hill National Historic Site. This project was funded as part of the National Park Service's Resilient Forest Initiative.
