Description of an historic cemetery in Tucson at Speedway Blvd. and Houghton Road in the shadow of the Rincon Mountains. There are 100 identifiable graves as well as unmarked mounds. Burials are of Mexican and American families who once lived here, raising livestock, beans, squash and chiles. One of the earliest of graves is of Nicholas Van Alstine who owned a ranch here an died in 1898. The property owner at the time of writing allows family members of those buried to visit the cemetery.
