Summary of Geologic Resources Inventory Support Documents: Fort Pulaski National Monument
EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC. 2026. Summary of Geologic Resources Inventory Support Documents: Fort Pulaski National Monument. National Park Service
The Geologic Resource Inventory (GRI) strives to advance science-based management of natural resources in the national parks and raise awareness about geology and the role that geologic features and processes play in the environment. Baseline GRI products were developed for Inventory and Monitoring Network parks and include a geologic scoping meeting, digital geologic map data, and a park-specific geologic report. 13 coastal parks have geologic scoping meeting summaries and at least one digital geologic map but do not have a traditional GRI park-specific geologic report: Biscayne National Park (BISC), Cape Cod National Seashore (CACO), Canaveral National Seashore (CANA), Castillo de San Marcos National Monument (CASA), Cumberland Island National Seashore (CUIS), Fire Island National Seashore (FIIS), Fort Caroline National Memorial (FOCA), Fort Frederica National Monument (FOFR), Fort Matanzas National Monument (FOMA), Fort Pulaski National Monument (FOPU), Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historical Park (FOSU), Gateway National Recreation Area (GATE), and Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve (TIMU). In lieu of a traditional report these 13 parks are receiving this summary of geologic resource inventory support documents which includes the following files: 1) a memorandum that discusses the literature review and provides an assessment of the existing GRI digital geologic map data for addressing coastal management needs identified by the park, and 2) a zip file that contains a literature review spreadsheet identifying all identified sources and the files for each source.
