Fire effects monitoring data collected at New River Gorge National River in West Virginia. The data were collected during summer field seasons (2012-2025) by the Fire Effects Monitoring Crew based in Shenandoah National Park. Data include forest Fire Monitoring Handbook (FMH) plots. Data collected from 50 x 20 m forest plots include tree inventory to obtain density and basal area, fuel load using Brown's method for inventorying surface fuels and biomass, seedling density, species richness, and point intercept data. Photographs were taken at each plot to document change.
