Using existing databases, park specialist input, and geospatial analyses—including imagery, soils, and vegetation—the project mapped historic and active placer mined streams across the three parks and developed a comprehensive geodatabase describing disturbance type, extent, and site conditions. These assessments were based on remote data rather than field visits and produced GIS ready layers that have been integrated into the NPS OTTER database, supporting national tracking of degraded wetlands and restoration opportunities.
