NPS Heartland I&M Network - FFI Fire Effects Monitoring Data WICR
Leis S and Ladner J. 2026. NPS Heartland I&M Network - FFI Fire Effects Monitoring Data WICR. National Park Service
Fire effects monitoring data collected at NPS Heartland (HTLN) I&M Park Units. The data were collected during spring, summer, and fall field seasons by the fire effects monitoring crew out of Wilson's Creek National Battlefield from 2010- 2025. The HTLN FFI database primarily contains fuels monitoring, fire severity, and disturbance history data. Data refer to monitoring sites in woodland, grassland and glades. Data were collected from 50 x 20 m plots. Protocols focus on the two 50 m transects per plot. The published protocol can be found on the HTLN website (Leis et. al. 2011) https://www.nps.gov/im/htln/fire-ecology.htm
