CUVA has conducted long-term butterfly monitoring at three sites with the support of volunteer citizen scientists since 1996. This Focused Condition Assessment proposes to (1) analyze the existing long-term dataset on butterfly diversity and abundance collected by citizen scientists at three sites at CUVA, (2) understand the impacts of local habitat restoration efforts, such as removal of invasive vegetation and prescribed fire, to butterfly populations, and (3) inform future butterfly monitoring, habitat restoration, and citizen science efforts at CUVA.
