Missouri Bladderpod Status Report at Wilson's Creek National Battlefield (2006–2026)

Wootton A and Leis S . 2026. Missouri Bladderpod Status Report at Wilson's Creek National Battlefield (2006–2026)

Missouri bladderpod is present on ten glades at Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield. Monitoring has occurred for 12–27 years depending on the glade. In this report, we present long-term population estimates through 2026, including a history of disturbance from prescribed fire and tree clearing. We do not have quantitative data on invasive plant treatments at this time; however, those ongoing treatments primarily include spot spraying of target species. This report provides information about management actions in the recent past, but we plan to conduct a more comprehensive analysis of bladderpod responses to management in the future. Bladderpod population data can serve as a guide for natural resource managers and regulators and can be used to document population stability.
