Chloride flux and surface water discharge out of Yellowstone National Park, 1982-1989
Norton DR and Friedman II. 1991. Chloride flux and surface water discharge out of Yellowstone National Park, 1982-1989. U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Bulletin. U. S. Geological Survey Bulletin 1959. United States Government Printing Office. Washington, DC
Tabulation of discharge, chloride concentration and chloride flux for the rivers and streams yields information related to heat flux from the Park. Chloride flux was calculated by the product of discharge and chloride concentration for the major rivers draining the Park. Large annual changes occur attributed to changes in height of the water table caused by variations in precipitation.
