A Complex Bayside Beach: Herring Cove Beach, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA

Ekwurzel B. 1990. A Complex Bayside Beach: Herring Cove Beach, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA. Journal of Coastal Research (JCR). 6(4):879-891

Herring Cove Beach is a 8 km, mixed sand and gravel bayside beach at the end of Cape Cod, facing Cape Cod Bay. Between 1985 and 1989, seven profile locations were surveyed and historical (over 155 years) shoreline changes were calculated to determine if this bayside beach is like other such beaches. Results showed some characteristics different from other bayside beaches, in part due to severe storm erosion which significantly affects Herring Cove Beach.
