A complex magma mixing origin for rocks erupted in 1915, Lassen Peak, California

Clynne MA. 1999. A complex magma mixing origin for rocks erupted in 1915, Lassen Peak, California

There were four volcanic rock types produced by the Lassen Peak eruption in May 1915 in the following order: hybrid black dacite lava, undercooled andesitic inclusions within the hybrid dacite lava, compositionally banded pumice with dark andesite and light dacite bands, and unbanded light dacite. The sequence of events which produced these rock types is delineated within the paper. Mineraological observations are given as well for each type of rock.
