To assist with management decisions at Redwood National Park, the authors developed a sediment budget documenting input, output, and storage in the Redwood Creek system. Recent acceleration of erosion raises questions about causes, and ways to reduce threats to park resources from the excess sedimentation. The paper identifies major sediment sources, movement processes, and discharges. Includes implications for management, and a table of stored sediment amounts according to the type of basin (by relief and dominant trees).
