This study was conducted during 1980 on the feral ponies that inhabit the Maryland portion of Assateague Island in order to collect data regarding herd dynamics, and specifically to monitor the grazing effects and the reproductive dynamics of the ponies. Study methods include observation of grazing areas, exclusion areas, radio telemetry, vegetation analysis, and population dynamics.
