Contribution of Tissues to Body Mass in Elk

Five elk (Cervus elaphus) from the Los Alamos National Laboratory were harvested and dissected to determine the weight of each organ as a percentage of total body weight. The percentages are compared to those of mule deer (Odocoileus hemionus) and humans (Homo sapien).
