Research conducted to discover the extent of Chamorro knowledge, use, and conservation attitudes toward the fruit bats. Researchers surveyed Chamorro villagers of different ages, genders, and incomes. Other topics in the questionnaire included whether hunting the bats was legal, if conserving nature was more important than building hotels, etc. The introduction includes the biology of the Marianas fruit bat as well as a history of Guam and the Chamorro people.
