Carls EG, Fenn DB, Chaffey S. 1987. Cumulative Impact of Oil and Gas Operations on the Soil and Vegetation Resources of Padre Island National Seashore. Technical Report No. 9. Texas A & M University. College Station, TX
Report on a study conducted 'to determine the kind and extent of oil and gas impacts on PAIS (Padre Island National Seashore) soils and vegetation. A secondary product of the investigation was the development of a comprehensive inventory of existing drilling sites, access corridors, and pipelines.' The study included only terrestrial oil and gas sites, with the exception of slant-drilled wells into the Gulf of Mexico or Laguna Madre. Only the soil and vegetation impacts 'associated with drilling and processing sites, access corridors, and pipelines,' were studied.
