Progress report on two 1-square mile study plots (Cottonwood Cove & Grapevine Canyon) to monitor movement and habitat use of the desert tortoise. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analysis was done with the Spatial Information System Professional Map Analysis Package (pMap). Complete ground coverage surveys were conducted from March through May, 1994. Radio telemetry equipment was attached to tortoises with which their activity was monitored.
